Casselman Clean Yard Bylaw 

The Clean Yard Bylaw 2006-180 requires properties and streets to be maintained in a safe condition and kept clear of waste. 

The following is a summary of the bylaw. For precise wording and all provisions, please refer to the official Clean Yard Bylaw 2006-180

Key Points of the Bylaw 

  • Regulates the filling up, draining, cleaning and clearing of any grounds, yards and vacant lots. 
  • Prohibits the use of land for the dumping or disposal of domestic garbage or industrial waste. 
  • Specifies property owners’ landscaping maintenance obligations.
  • Specifies conditions for keeping running refrigerators and freezers outdoors and the disposal of such appliances. 
  • Prohibits littering on private and Village property. 
  • Prohibits the storing of inoperative motor vehicles. 

Penalty 

A person found guilty of an offence to the bylaw is liable to a fine as provided for in the Provincial Offences Act
